More about me
I'm Wanda Leschinsky, a qualified teacher and tutor based in Lindfield, passionate about helping children build confidence, curiosity, and a genuine love of learning.
My journey as an educator has been shaped by one simple belief: that every child can thrive with the right support. I love getting to know each of my students, their strengths, their worries, and what makes them light up, and building lessons around that. Watching a child's confidence grow is the most rewarding thing I know.

Since working with Wanda, I’ve seen a noticeable improvement in Ada’s maths skills and overall confidence with the subject. The sessions really complement what she’s learning in school and have helped to strengthen her understanding in a way that feels steady and supportive for her. Our experience has been incredibly positive. Ada is a child with SEN, and Wanda has been brilliant at understanding her specific learning style and adapting each session to meet her needs. It’s clear how much she genuinely cares about every child she works with, and that really shines through in her teaching and attitude. Lizzie has dyslexia and her spelling and punctuation remain her weakness, but she has gained confidence in writing and always enjoyed the element of play that is incorporated into Wanda's lessons. Wanda also allowed her movement breaks and included short stints on the iPad doing phonics games, to give her a variety of modes of learning within the sessions. She is writing more fluidly and willingly. Less hesitant about starting a piece of work independently. Is able to express herself creatively and pen her thoughts on paper.

She took Harry through the Toe by Toe process, which identified gaps in his phonic knowledge, enabling her to understand which areas to focus on. She liaised with his teachers, was incredibly thorough & has been, without doubt, fundamental in teaching him to read and write. She shows a genuine passion for her work & has a natural ability to connect with children; we would highly recommend working with Wanda. Since starting with Wanda we have seen her confidence return. Wanda has helped her learn what the questions are asking her to do and how to present her answers. Wanda has also identified any gaps in our daughter's mathematical knowledge and worked to develop these. Our daughter's school stream their maths groups and recently our daughter has moved up a group due to Wanda's support. Our daughter was nervous about having a tutor at first. However, Wanda's friendly approach and fun learning activities helped our daughter engage quickly and she looks forward to her sessions. Wanda has a great child focused approach. She has provided our daughter with lots of praise during the sessions, which has really helped her confidence grow.

Sessions run on From Mondays to Thursdays from 3:30pm to 7:30pm. Online sessions are available on Wednesday mornings and Thursday mornings. All sessions take place during term time only. A newsletter with upcoming term dates is sent out before each new term in August, December and April.
You can book using my booking system Calendly. When slot is booked, you'll be asked to complete a booking form with your child's details before their place is confirmed. Some time slots do have a waitlist. If the slot you would like is unavaible, please contact me and I'll be in touch as soon as a place becomes available.
Both options are available depending on the slot. Some sessions are one to one and others are paired, meaning your child shares the lesson with one other pupil. Paired sessions are available at a lower rate. Current availability for each slot type can be found on the booking page.
Two invoices are sent per term by email. The first covers the start of term to half term, and the second covers half term to the end of term. If a lesson is cancelled with at least 24 hours notice, a refund will be applied to the following invoice (less the venue hire fee). Please note that one cancellation per half term is permitted at no charge. Running cost fee of 20£ is charged at the beginning of Autumn, Spring and Summer terms. Sibling discount of 10£.
Please give at least 24 hours' notice if your child is unable to attend — emergencies are of course understood. One cancellation per half-term is permitted, and a refund (less the venue hire fee) will be applied to your next invoice. Any additional missed lessons will be charged at the normal rate.
